With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape. Proverbs 11:9 (NIV)
My reflection of the verse
The verse tells us that a person who doesn't believe in God is someone who use his mouth to slander or hurt his fellowman. However, a righteous man prevents it. Instead, he use it to glorify God. I'm reminded of my deceased grandfather with this verse. He was a man who doesn't curse or say bad things about other people. I have never heard him saying anything negative towards others and but instead he treat everybody fairly. I'm sure God is pleased with people who knows how to control their tongues and give honor to His name.
