Bible verse of the day...Ephesians 6:4 (NIV)

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Fathers of every child must be able to teach their children the ways of God. He must be able to lead them the proper and decent way of living. Discipline is very important in every home. Children sometimes doesn't know what they are doing and the role of the parents is crucial to their development. The guidance of a father is important to a child as he grows older. A father must be a role model to his child. Meaning he must live according to God's law and his ways should be based on the principles of the bible. A child may commit mistakes and a father should be firm with his discipline. However, should be gentle and calm in dealing with it.

Bible verse of the day...Romans 8: 28 (NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Many things happen in our lives that we don't seem to understand. Oftentimes we ask God WHY it has to happen or sometimes others blame God for it. Whatever is going on with us, we should try to understand that God has a plan for each of us and it's for the best. It might hurt us in the process but in time when we look back we will realize the importance of that situation. It usually teaches us a lesson and help us become stronger spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Each of us has his calling and God merely directs us to the path which will lead us to our purpose. Therefore, let us trust God and hold on to our faith.

Bible verse of the day...James 1:12 (NIV)

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Every man has his own problem and none of us are spared. It can be anything, i.e. health, finances, family, etc. We may ask why this and that has to happen. This verse answers that question. We must try to be strong and hold on to our faith. Storms may come but we should not allow it to destroy us but rather help us become more stronger and tougher. Our Almighty God is true to His words. Problems help us become better individuals and worthy of God's kingdom. Hence, we must not have a weak heart and we must be able to stand up under any circumstance.

Bible verse of the day...Luke 12:48 (NIV)

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. Luke 12:48 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

The verse is familiar to most of us. When God gives blessings to all, the bible says that to whom much is given, much is required and to whom much more is given, much more is required. I think this verse is applicable with our work and our tithing. For instance, if a man is placed to a higher position whether it be in a private or public entities, people expect much from him when it comes to his performance with his work. There is so much trust given to him from God and he should do his best with it. The same with the blessings we receive everyday. We should give to God what is due to Him. Not lesser than what we receive because everything that we have comes from God.

Bible verse of the day...Proverbs 16:28 (NIV)

A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends. Proverbs 16:28 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Man should act properly with God and with his neighbors. We should follow the path of righteousness to avoid conflict among peers, friends and family. However, if man does otherwise, series of issues or problems will raise up against him. Further, man should be careful with his words and should not make up stories or slander his brothers. Hurtful words or indecent language should not come out from man's mouth. What do he gain from it when he does that? None. Except heartache and disagreement with his brothers.

Bible verse of the day...Proverbs 21:2 (NIV)

All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

There are times that man does things which are good in the eyes of others or to himself. However, God sees his heart and the motives of his actions. Sometimes he does things that are not sincere but only for a show or which seeks recognition from others. I think in whatever he do, he should do it for God and not for any other reason.

Bible verse of the day...Psalm 66:20 (NIV)

Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me! Psalm 66:20 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

I want to thank the Lord for all the blessings He has given me. Today, I got hospitalized but still I thank Him for that because it makes me realized how important to count my blessings. God has His way of showing me how loved I am. He never failed me and He would cheer me up despite my health issues. I see it as a blessing and not otherwise. Life is beautiful and I'm happy that He gave me this life. Every breath I take comes from Him and there is so much to be thankful for. I praise God for that.

Bible verse of the day...1John 2:22 (NIV)

Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist -- he denies the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22 (NIV)

My reflection of the day

It is sad to know that there are people who deny Jesus as the Messiah. Many say different things about Him like a prophet or something else. But Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He died for our sins and sacrificed Himself for us. He gives life to all who believe in Him. He is the eternal God and Mighty King. He will come back and I pray that when that time comes many are saved.

Bible verse of the day...Romans 12:16 (NIV)

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Romans 12:16 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

It is good to see people living peacefully with one another. I admire a community which its members help each other during calamities or such. God says in this verse that we must not be proud of who we are but rather we must be able to mingle with our brothers who are less fortunate than us. It is a good feeling when we spend time with friends or fellow brothers and helping them out in time of need. A humble heart makes God happy and He gives abundant blessings to the person who owns it.

Bible verse of the day...Proverbs 29:23 (NIV)

A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. Proverbs 29:23 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

On whatever circumstance in life, I think man should be humble with his fellow being and especially to God. We won't gain anything when we are proud and arrogant. Man should not forget that whatever he owns or have acquired comes from our Almighty God. Hence, we have no right to be proud.

Bible verse of the day...Psalm 71:8 (NIV)

My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. Psalm 71:8 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Our mouths and tongues should be used for praising God and proclaiming all the wonderful things He has done. There are times that we simply forget that and sometimes when we are angry we used it to say bad things toward other people or about life in general. In this verse God reminds us to use our mouth properly and wisely.

Bible verse of the day...Romans 13:9 (NIV)

The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Romans 13:9 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

God gave us the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) and this verse mentioned them again. However, God says that loving our neighbor is an important law and we should remember it always. I think when we love our neighbors, we can't hurt them by committing all these crimes, i.e. adultery, murder, stealing and others. Further, when we love someone we always try to do what is right and pleasing to him / her. Hence, loving others like we love ourselves is a good thing for us and also to God.

Bible verse of day...John 15:16 (NIV)

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Jesus is telling us that He has chosen us to serve Him and wanted us to do something good that would glorify His name. There are many ways to do great things for God. One of them is helping others to be near Him. For instance, we can invite others to go to church with us especially members of the family or our friends. I think when we do that we are bearing fruit that will last because if we gain one or more soul for God who will commit sincerely to Him, God will be pleased. Jesus also said that whatever we ask in His name His father in heaven will give it. Therefore, when we ask Him something, then, we should know that He has already given us what we have prayed for.

Bible verse of the day...Jeremiah 32:17 (NIV)

"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you." Jeremiah 32:17 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

There are many things that we can't do in life. Sometimes we can't even think any possible solution to a problem. But we must remember that our Almighty God is the God of the impossible. What is impossible with man is possible with God. Most of the people from around the world now a days suffer financially. But God is faithful and continue to shower His blessings on us daily. Some may not have much but enough to sustain them daily. There are also many people sick with cancer and other illness. Like in my family, four of my aunts have cancer and on cancer treatment. But I could say that we are still blessed because God uses others as instruments to help them get through with it, i.e. doctors and nurses who help them in their treatments and many organizations who support cancer patients. What I'm saying here is that, no matter how hopeless our situation might be, we just have to trust God for His mercy and grace. He can do anything for us provided we believe in Him.

Bible verse of the day...Psalm 139:9-10 (NIV)

"If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." (Psalm 139:9-10 NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Our God is a powerful creator and He is everywhere. Wherever we may be, He is there to guide us and protect us from harm. So, if we need to talk to God whether we are inside our cars or in our churches, we should know that He is listening to us. He is not only up in the heavens but He is also in our hearts guiding us every step we make each day.

Bible verse of the day..Isaiah 48:17 (NIV)

"This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.’" (Isaiah 48:17 NIV)

My reflection of the verse

There are times that we walk on the wrong path and God redirect us to the right path. As normal human beings we failed many times in our lives. However, we serve an awesome God who knows what is best for us and help us in every step we make. I trust God and ask Him to lead my way. I can't see what lies ahead of me but I believe that wherever I will be that is part of God's plan for me. God is our salvation and redeemer, hence, let Him direct us all the way.

Bible verse of the day...Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7: 7-8 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

It is normal to pray and ask God for something we need or want. For instance, we ask Him to bless us with good health, good job, peaceful relationship with love ones, etc. We should claim what we asked for in our prayers. Our faith should be strong that God will give what were asked because this verse exactly tells us that when we ask something, we receive it, when we seek for something we find it and if we knock on God's door, He will surely open it for us. This day, I claim that whatever I asked for in my prayers, I will definitely receive it in God's time.

Bible verse of the day...Proverbs 18:12 (NIV)

Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor. Proverbs 18:12 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

This verse tells us that we should always be humble. Sometimes when a person succeeds and things are going smoothly in his life, he becomes proud. Then, eventually during his downfall he realizes his mistakes. A humble heart pleases God and receives special blessings from Him. Hence, let us remain humble in the eyes of God and our fellowmen.

Bible verse of the day...Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Have you sometimes felt that it is hard to do something when you don't feel like doing it? I think most of us have felt that way. But the verse for today tells us that in whatever we do, we have to do it for God. We must try to please Him. No matter how tough it might be, we have to do our best for Him alone and not to please any man. For instance, if you are student, you have to study hard for God because learning new things is a blessing and God will reward you if you study hard. If you are working, then, you must work hard for God and not to please your boss alone because the job you have comes from God. If you are a homemaker, you must take care of your home and family with care and love for God because they are gifts from heaven. Therefore, in whatever we do, we do it for the Lord because He gives reward to those who give their best to Him.

Bible verse of the day...Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Sometimes it is quite impossible to accomplish something. Our limited minds tell us that it is hard to do a specific task. If we rely on ourselves I don't think we can do anything. In this verse, it says that if we ask God to strengthen us and help us, we can do everything through him. It means that even the most difficult goal, task, and problem we can reach it or find solution to it because God is the source of our wisdom and strength.

Bible verse of the day...1 Chronicles 16:11-12 (NIV)

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced. 1 Chronicles 16:11-12 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

I find this verse very inspiring today because this is a trying moment of my life. I'm asking God to give me strength and more patience to overcome the situation. But I don't feel bad even though I'm facing a trial. In fact, I'm challenged to do better. Jesus has shown me many miracles in my young life and everyday is a miracle for me. I remind myself every time I feel down that God never failed me and always pouring out His blessing to me. So, why should I worry? I know every person struggles with his daily life and is not spared with problems. But this verse is another reminder from God that we should look up to Him, ask for His strength in our weakness and think about the wonderful things He has done for us. By doing this, it will help us feel better and rely on God completely.
