My reflection of the verse

I'm very touched with this verse tonight. I have seen some testimonies about the greatest of God from other people and it was very inspiring to me. I don't know if I have thank God enough for everything He has given me. From good things to trying moments. I must say that God is giving me some test at the moment. A very difficult test. However, it won't stop me from holding on to Him and calling out His name. I won't stop making testimonies and reflections despite this difficult time. I would still proclaim His greatness to every soul who can read my blog. I would still sing a worship and praise song to Him. Even if He take my life I won't stop telling the world His goodness. Jesus is the only true God and He is the only way to salvation. Whatever that may be experiencing we should not forget that He is there extending His hand to us. All we have to do is reach out. We may fall down sometimes but we should stand up because God has never give up on us. God is always good and He loves us more than anyone else. When we feel so down, let us call on to Him and He will comfort us. I know that because He has done that to me. I pray that whoever is sick, afraid, depressed or feeling helpless at this point, may God bring them peace and comfort in His love. Praise be the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God bless everyone who love Him more than themselves.

My reflection of the verse

In whatever we do, we must give ourselves to God. He should be our top priority and then, follow what He commands us to do. Sometimes with all the problems we encounter along the way and trying to overcome the pain we go through, we question God about it. However, bearing in mind that God will not give us something which we cannot bear, it makes me realize that I have to give my all to God first and do what He commands me to do. Then, everything else will follow. I pray that may God give us the strength and wisdom to endure all the suffering and sacrifices He has given us at this point in our lives. It maybe so difficult but God knows what He is doing. I surrender everything to Him.

My reflection of the verse
One of the verses in the bible says that those who have pure hearts would see God. However, this verse says that if we love each other, He lives in us and the love He has for us makes it complete. If we look at the different verses in the bible we can see that Jesus have taught us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. It is an important law to follow and by doing that we become obedient children of God. With sincere and pure hearts , it is not impossible to see God.

My reflection of the verse

Fathers of every child must be able to teach their children the ways of God. He must be able to lead them the proper and decent way of living. Discipline is very important in every home. Children sometimes doesn't know what they are doing and the role of the parents is crucial to their development. The guidance of a father is important to a child as he grows older. A father must be a role model to his child. Meaning he must live according to God's law and his ways should be based on the principles of the bible. A child may commit mistakes and a father should be firm with his discipline. However, should be gentle and calm in dealing with it.

My reflection of the verse

Many things happen in our lives that we don't seem to understand. Oftentimes we ask God WHY it has to happen or sometimes others blame God for it. Whatever is going on with us, we should try to understand that God has a plan for each of us and it's for the best. It might hurt us in the process but in time when we look back we will realize the importance of that situation. It usually teaches us a lesson and help us become stronger spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Each of us has his calling and God merely directs us to the path which will lead us to our purpose. Therefore, let us trust God and hold on to our faith.

My reflection of the verse

Every man has his own problem and none of us are spared. It can be anything, i.e. health, finances, family, etc. We may ask why this and that has to happen. This verse answers that question. We must try to be strong and hold on to our faith. Storms may come but we should not allow it to destroy us but rather help us become more stronger and tougher. Our Almighty God is true to His words. Problems help us become better individuals and worthy of God's kingdom. Hence, we must not have a weak heart and we must be able to stand up under any circumstance.

My reflection of the verse

The verse is familiar to most of us. When God gives blessings to all, the bible says that to whom much is given, much is required and to whom much more is given, much more is required. I think this verse is applicable with our work and our tithing. For instance, if a man is placed to a higher position whether it be in a private or public entities, people expect much from him when it comes to his performance with his work. There is so much trust given to him from God and he should do his best with it. The same with the blessings we receive everyday. We should give to God what is due to Him. Not lesser than what we receive because everything that we have comes from God.

My reflection of the verse

Man should act properly with God and with his neighbors. We should follow the path of righteousness to avoid conflict among peers, friends and family. However, if man does otherwise, series of issues or problems will raise up against him. Further, man should be careful with his words and should not make up stories or slander his brothers. Hurtful words or indecent language should not come out from man's mouth. What do he gain from it when he does that? None. Except heartache and disagreement with his brothers.

There are times that man does things which are good in the eyes of others or to himself. However, God sees his heart and the motives of his actions. Sometimes he does things that are not sincere but only for a show or which seeks recognition from others. I think in whatever he do, he should do it for God and not for any other reason.

My reflection of the verse

I want to thank the Lord for all the blessings He has given me. Today, I got hospitalized but still I thank Him for that because it makes me realized how important to count my blessings. God has His way of showing me how loved I am. He never failed me and He would cheer me up despite my health issues. I see it as a blessing and not otherwise. Life is beautiful and I'm happy that He gave me this life. Every breath I take comes from Him and there is so much to be thankful for. I praise God for that.

It is sad to know that there are people who deny Jesus as the Messiah. Many say different things about Him like a prophet or something else. But Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He died for our sins and sacrificed Himself for us. He gives life to all who believe in Him. He is the eternal God and Mighty King. He will come back and I pray that when that time comes many are saved.

My reflection of the verse

It is good to see people living peacefully with one another. I admire a community which its members help each other during calamities or such. God says in this verse that we must not be proud of who we are but rather we must be able to mingle with our brothers who are less fortunate than us. It is a good feeling when we spend time with friends or fellow brothers and helping them out in time of need. A humble heart makes God happy and He gives abundant blessings to the person who owns it.

On whatever circumstance in life, I think man should be humble with his fellow being and especially to God. We won't gain anything when we are proud and arrogant. Man should not forget that whatever he owns or have acquired comes from our Almighty God. Hence, we have no right to be proud.

My reflection of the verse

Our mouths and tongues should be used for praising God and proclaiming all the wonderful things He has done. There are times that we simply forget that and sometimes when we are angry we used it to say bad things toward other people or about life in general. In this verse God reminds us to use our mouth properly and wisely.

My reflection of the verse

God gave us the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) and this verse mentioned them again. However, God says that loving our neighbor is an important law and we should remember it always. I think when we love our neighbors, we can't hurt them by committing all these crimes, i.e. adultery, murder, stealing and others. Further, when we love someone we always try to do what is right and pleasing to him / her. Hence, loving others like we love ourselves is a good thing for us and also to God.

My reflection of the verse

Jesus is telling us that He has chosen us to serve Him and wanted us to do something good that would glorify His name.There are many ways to do great things for God. One of them is helping others to be near Him. For instance, we can invite others to go to church with us especially members of the family or our friends. I think when we do that we are bearing fruit that will last because if we gain one or more soul for God who will commit sincerely to Him, God will be pleased. Jesus also said that whatever we ask in His name His father in heaven will give it. Therefore, when we ask Him something, then, we should know that He has already given us what we have prayed for.

My reflection of the verse

There are many things that we can't do in life. Sometimes we can't even think any possible solution to a problem. But we must remember that our Almighty God is the God of the impossible. What is impossible with man is possible with God. Most of the people from around the world now a days suffer financially. But God is faithful and continue to shower His blessings on us daily.Some may not have much but enough to sustain them daily. There are also many people sick with cancer and other illness. Like in my family, four of my aunts have cancer and on cancer treatment. But I could say that we are still blessed because God uses others as instruments to help them get through with it, i.e. doctors and nurses who help them in their treatments and many organizations who support cancer patients. What I'm saying here is that, no matter how hopeless our situation might be, we just have to trust God for His mercy and grace. He can do anything for us provided we believe in Him.

Our God is a powerful creator and He is everywhere. Wherever we may be, He is there to guide us and protect us from harm. So, if we need to talk to God whether we are inside our cars or in our churches, we should know that He is listening to us. He is not only up in the heavens but He is also in our hearts guiding us every step we make each day.

There are times that we walk on the wrong path and God redirect us to the right path. As normal human beings we failed many times in our lives. However, we serve an awesome God who knows what is best for us and help us in every step we make. I trust God and ask Him to lead my way. I can't see what lies ahead of me but I believe that wherever I will be that is part of God's plan for me. God is our salvation and redeemer, hence, let Him direct us all the way.

It is normal to pray and ask God for something we need or want. For instance, we ask Him to bless us with good health, good job, peaceful relationship with love ones, etc. We should claim what we asked for in our prayers. Our faith should be strong that God will give what were asked because this verse exactly tells us that when we ask something, we receive it, when we seek for something we find it and if we knock on God's door, He will surely open it for us. This day, I claim that whatever I asked for in my prayers, I will definitely receive it in God's time.

This verse tells us that we should always be humble. Sometimes when a person succeeds and things are going smoothly in his life, he becomes proud. Hence, let us remain humble in the eyes of God and our fellowmen.

Have you sometimes felt that it is hard to do something when you don't feel like doing it? I think most of us have felt that way. But the verse for today tells us that in whatever we do, we have to do it for God. We must try to please Him. No matter how tough it might be, we have to do our best for Him alone and not to please any man. For instance, if you are student, you have to study hard for God because learning new things is a blessing and God will reward you if you study hard. If you are working, then, you must work hard for God and not to please your boss alone because the job you have comes from God. If you are a homemaker, you must take care of your home and family with care and love for God because they are gifts from heaven. Therefore, in whatever we do, we do it for the Lord because He gives reward to those who give their best to Him.

Sometimes it is quite impossible to accomplish something. Our limited minds tell us that it is hard to do a specific task. If we rely on ourselves I don't think we can do anything. It means that even the most difficult goal, task, and problem we can reach it or find solution to it because God is the source of our wisdom and strength.

My reflection of the verse

I find this verse very inspiring today because this is a trying moment of my life. I'm asking God to give me strength and more patience to overcome the situation. But I don't feel bad even though I'm facing a trial. In fact, I'm challenged to do better. Jesus has shown me many miracles in my young life and everyday is a miracle for me. I remind myself every time I feel down that God never failed me and always pouring out His blessing to me. So, why should I worry? I know every person struggles with his daily life and is not spared with problems. But this verse is another reminder from God that we should look up to Him, ask for His strength in our weakness and think about the wonderful things He has done for us. By doing this, it will help us feel better and rely on God completely.

My reflection of the verse

Have you ever asked God for something either for yourself or for someone else? I'm sure most of us have done it. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ tells us in this verse that if we need something, all we have to do is pray and ask in His name, then, we will receive it.
Receiving blessings from God is truly a joy to anyone who ask for it. But we must try to consider God's will. Sometimes when we pray for something to happen or whatever it might be and God thinks that it will be good for us, He gives what is asked. However, if He thinks it will harm us, He would not heed with our request. So, whatever the outcome of our prayers in the name of Jesus, we should believe that God always gives what is best for us.

All of us have sinned against God. None of us can say that he is not a sinner because man can sin with his thoughts and with his heart. God commands us to confess our sins with one another and pray for each other. We should accept our sins and ask the Lord for forgiveness. He hears the prayer of a righteous man and the reason why it is effective and powerful because God sees the sincerity of his heart.

We should be grateful for whatever wealth we have in life. When I say wealth doesn't mean money only but our lives, family, good health, jobs, friends and the things we have. I thank God for the blessings He gave me.

My reflection of the verse

In this world, there is a huge difference between rich and poor. We can see that many people around the planet are starving and children dying because of poverty. However, in first world countries, it's the opposite. Despite our economic status in life, we are created by the same God. We are all made of in His image and likeness. It is nobody's fault if we were born to a poor or rich family. I think it's a great blessing for us to be alive. If we were born rich, then, it's a great opportunity to help others who are less fortunate. But if we were born to a poor family, it doesn't mean that we should have self-pity but rather we should hold on to God and strive hard to augment our way of living. God has a plan for us whether we are rich or poor. We have the same God who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He guides us and protect us everyday. Hence, we are equal in His eyes.

There are many verses in the bible about tithes and offerings for the Lord.This verse is one of them. We should remember that when we give something to God it should be the best we have. God is pleased when we give it with all our hearts and not for the eyes of man. He will give back a hundred percent or more of what you have given Him. I know this because He always do that to me faithfully and I'm always very grateful to Him.

My reflection of the verse

Have you experienced being persecuted or being looked down by someone? Well, I have had that experience. Sometimes it's annoying, you'll get upset and get hurt in the process. However, most of the time I see it as a challenge. A challenge for me to become a better person and an opportunity to show God's love on that individual. Arrogance of a man won't do him any good. I think no man is better than the other. We are created equal and we should forgive the person who try to put us down. In fact, a prayer would help that person a lot. We should be merciful because sometimes man doesn't know what he is doing. Oftentimes, these people are blinded with hate and insecurities in their hearts. As God has said in this verse, let us not be angry but rather show mercy and learn how to forgive.

My reflection of the verse

Every time we pray together even when we are only few, God is always there to listen to our prayers. In the church where I usually attend there is a mid-week service. In that mid-week service there are only very few attendees. One time, we were less than 10 who attended the service. Then, we group ourselves by two's to pray for our needs and other things. Even though we were only two praying for each other our Almighty God is there with us and listening to our prayers. In my own experience, praying together with sincere hearts is a powerful thing. Many times I have done it with my colleagues and it is a very effective because God hears them and answers the need.

My reflection of the verse

The verse tells us that a person who doesn't believe in God is someone who use his mouth to slander or hurt his fellowman. However, a righteous man prevents it. Instead, he use it to glorify God. I'm reminded of my deceased grandfather with this verse. He was a man who doesn't curse or say bad things about other people. I have never heard him saying anything negative towards others and but instead he treat everybody fairly. I'm sure God is pleased with people who knows how to control their tongues and give honor to His name.

My reflection of the verse

Moses is one of the my favorite bible characters. I admired him because he allowed himself to be used by God. I think most of us are familiar and observant of the Ten Commandments. God gave these commandments to Moses to serve as reminder to all mankind. He doesn't want us to sin against Him that is why He laid down these laws for us. We should know that God is constantly watching us and wants us to follow the laws He set for us.

Eventhough we have different ideas, beliefs and opinions from one another, still we need to learn how to live in peace.

As a human being we commit a lot of mistakes and sometimes we deserve some corrections either from our parents or from God. It maybe hard to accept that we did something wrong. But we should be responsible for our own actions and able to face the consequences of it. A wise man is someone who is not afraid of accepting his punishment or correction because he knows that it will make him stronger and it will help him to be more careful with his actions. However, a fool man is someone who rejects correction because he thinks he is always right. I think it is better for us to face God's correction because He knows that it is for our own good. Also, we can learn from our mistakes and it will help us become better servants of God.

My reflection of the verse

Many times I've been sick and it is very frustrating when I can't do anything except lying down or sleeping. I don't want to get sick but it is common for us to get sick. I always pray for good health not only for myself but also for the people I love. I remember when I was in high school when my grandfather was admitted to the hospital. The entire school prayed for him because he was once a school principal of the same school. That prayer and the prayer of the entire family helped him. He eventually recovered after a few weeks or so. I think when we pray to God sincerely not only in times of sickness, He hears them. Our faith in Him must be strong because we know that He can do anything. There are many stories in the bible regarding faith and healing. We can see in these stories that our God is a great healer and He can heal anyone who have faith in Him.

This verse sounds very familiar to most of us and we hear this in our churches every now and then. God's words and commandments will stay forever. Our future is in His hands and the things written in the bible will happen. God's words are true. Everything will pass but God lives forever.

St. Paul wrote the book of Ephesians and this verse is one of the inspiring verses in the bible. It is good to know that someone is praying for you and asking God to bless you with great things. St. Paul did the same with the people of Ephesus. I believe in the power of prayer. We pray not only for ourselves but also for others especially those who need them. We must pray that others will know and love God. If a man loves Him, he becomes a true servant and obey God unconditionally.

This is a very interesting verse. We should love our fellowmen despite our differences in religion, gender, nationality, etc. Today, we can see a lot of fighting from around the world. Most people doesn't seem to care about their brothers and sisters. Some find pleasure in killing innocent people, including women and children. Some do it for the sake of religion or other cultural beliefs. Ironic as it may seemed because our God doesn't want us to hate our fellow being. In fact, He wanted us to love our brothers. This verse is so true because how can we say we love God, then, do bad things toward His children. A true child of God is someone who knows how to obey what God says and does not do otherwise.

Our God has many names and He can be called Yeshua, YHWH, El Shaddai, Jehovah, El, Elohim, and Adonai (Hebrew names). Our Almighty God wants us to praise Him and does not want to be associated with idols. There are many kinds of idols, it can be a stone or wood carved into something which the people can worship (simply called graven images) and it can also be something that diverts man's attention from God like money, power, etc. Our God is the King of all kings and it is Him alone who is worthy of our worship.

God has been telling us that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Sometimes it's not easy loving people whom we don't know or whom we don't trust. But no matter how tough it is, we have to love others. We may ask, why? Well, first of all, it's one of God's commandments and in order for us to be called as His children, we have to obey His laws. Second, we can't live alone, no matter what we do, we need others in order for us to survive. Loving others make it more easier for us to live a peaceful and happier life. Lastly, sharing love toward others and doing good to our neighbors is one of best things we could do for God.

A child should be trained well by their parents while they are young. The verse reminds us that when we do good things to other people we should not show or tell the whole world about it. As much as possible we should keep it and let God knows what we have done. We have seen other people helping others but some do it for publicity. It should not be that way. Our God in heaven is pleased when we do good things for His glory. Our brothers who are in need must be able to realized that the help extended to them was from God's. The helper was merely an instrument of God's love and compassion for them. Therefore, doing acts of righteousness should be sincere and let God reward anyone who do these things.

This verse reminds me that everything we have here on earth are temporary. We should not be too attached with the materials things we possess because in time it will deteriorate. God tells us that we should focus on making treasures in His kingdom because no one can take that away from us. Therefore, we should start storing our treasures in heaven because definitely we can have it when we come home to God's kingdom.

Many times Jesus has proven me this verse. I mean He has shown me literally what He meant by this verse. I have had experiences which I can't do anything about it but He made it possible. For instance, finishing school, good grades, etc. I have achieved many things in my young life because it was all of God's doing. Without Him, I don't think I will achieve any because I can't do it alone. He guided me all throughout my life and I have always asked for His wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I'm very grateful to Jesus and will always be grateful for the things He has done for me. I believe that Jesus has done the same thing with others because He loves each and every one of us.

I sincerely admire people who are obedient to God and are willing to fight for Him. It is right to obey Jesus instead of obeying men. It may be hard but as responsible Christians we should put God first in whatever we do. He controls our lives and provides our every need. Hence, we should obey and please Him.

My reflection of the verse

As I pondered on the verse today , I wondered if most of God's children live by faith and not by sight. God has shown man all kinds of wonders and He even went down from heaven to show His love. Sadly, for many it's not enough. It reminds me of Thomas , one of Jesus' disciples. When Jesus resurrected and visited His disciples, Thomas was not around. The disciples told him that Jesus has risen but he did not believe. Then, Jesus appeared and he believed. Jesus has said blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.[John 20:24-29] The verses also speak about faith. We should have faith in Jesus even though we do not see Him. We should trust Him with all our hearts and should not worry what comes along because God has always been faithful to us and will never forsake us.

It is a great honor for someone to be called by God and being told to follow Him. Levi did the right thing by following Jesus and leaving everything behind. When we follow Him we become more blessed because He provides us with everything. By following Him also means leaving our old sinful ways and making ourselves a living sacrifice by submitting according to His will.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will come again and take away His faithful servants into His kingdom. Even the dead people who are worthy of Him will rise up and live for eternity.This verse is related to other verses in the bible about Jesus' coming and He will come without us knowing when. The term rapture is associated with this verse and other verses although we cannot find the exact word in the bible. However, rapture means the taking away or the assumption of God's children into heaven (as defined in Merriam Webster Dictionary). God will meet them in the clouds to spare them from harm that will come upon the earth. Although many will be left behind because of several reasons. So, I think we should always be ready because any time of the day Jesus will call upon His children to live with Him in heaven.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will come again like a thief in the night although we do not know when. He will reward us based on what we have done. Before He comes I think we should be prepared and do what we must do. As His children, we should observe the laws and commandments He has given us. We should also turn away from sin and live a life that is right and just. It is also our duty to help others to know Him and bring them to God. I hope and pray that when Jesus comes He will bring all His children into His kingdom.

This is a verse which challenges everybody to strive hard in order to get eternal life with God. It is not easy to aim for a prize because it requires rigorous training and self-sacrifice. For instance, if you are an athlete for the upcoming Olympic Games, you need to wake up very early in the morning to train. It requires a lot of discipline and long hours of practice. Same with aiming for the golden crown. We should not waste time doing nothing but rather, we should accept God's challenge to do His commandments and share the good news to others. Proclaiming His goodness and gospel may not be easy because many does not accept His words. There are times that God's adversary will do things that are just the opposite of what God does that would affect us somehow. However, we should not be discourage because we know that God is with us. It really takes a lot of pain but it's worth taking to have that golden crown.

My reflection of the verse

This is an inspiring verse for all of us. When we look at Chapter 5 from verses 21 - 34 (Book of Mark) we can see that a man named Jairus asked Jesus to come to his house because his little daughter was dying. There was a huge crowd and then, a woman who was bleeding for 12 years was in the crowd. She touched Jesus' cloak. Then, Jesus asked who touched His clothes and this woman came to Jesus, hence, He said this words to her. It's amazing how our faith in Jesus can do. As children of God, we should live by faith and not by sight. There are many instances that call on our faith and we would feel better if we put everything in His hands. He controls everything around us and we should cast our care in Him. We should not worry about what will happen today or tomorrow because He is in command of everything. The only thing we should do is to have faith in God.

Further, He command us to hate evil and do what is good and just. Doing what is right in the eyes of God and man is one of the best things we can do for God.

Most of us are afraid of dying. It's a human nature. We really don't know when we will die and how we will die. Some may die due to sickness, some caused by accidents, some killed by someone,and some simply die of old age. However, this verse is telling us not to be afraid of someone who can kill our body. We do not want to imagine being killed by someone. But then, God is telling us that we should not be afraid of that person because he may kill us physically but not spiritually. Instead, we should fear God. If a man has devoted his life to God and feared Him because He is his King, I think there is no way for him to be separated from God after his physical death. He will live with his creator for eternity and that it the most important thing of all.

It is true that when a person has hatred in his heart it usually results in disagreement with the other person. Oftentimes when someone hates a person he seeks the faults or wrong doings made by the person he hates. Sometimes hating someone makes them say things they don't mean. But what do we really get from hating other people? I think nothing good comes out of it. We should love our fellowmen despite our differences. Love makes the world a better place to live in and by loving others we are able to forgive the mistakes done against us. Hence, I do believe that love do covers all wrongs.

It is good to see people who are passionate about God. As children of God we should also tell others that God lives and reigns forever. I think God wants us to do these things always and we should be willing to spread the good news about Him too.

My reflection of the verse

In this verse God is telling us that we should not conceal our hatred with someone. I think the reason behind this verse is that when we hate someone our hearts and minds think negative things about the person we hate. We should be open about our feelings to the person we had a misunderstanding with. It's better to talk it out before the end of the day and learn how to forgive. Usually, when a person hate someone he has the tendency of spreading bad things about the person. It's not proper to say bad things about others whether it is true or not. We should refrain from saying negative things, and then, later on regret what has been said. Hence, hating is not good and we should avoid it.

My reflection of the verse

This is a very inspiring verse because it reminds me how good Daniel was. I have always liked Daniel as one of the bible characters because he was a faithful servant of God. He worshiped God alone and had never prayed to any god except to God Almighty. However, many envied him because he was a righteous man and no fault could be found in him. If we read the entire chapter (Chapter 6) we could see how these satraps influenced the king to make a decree which says that for 30 days no one will pray to any god or man, otherwise, he will be thrown into the lion's den. But Daniel never obeyed that law because he knew that it was not right. He continued praying to God, three times a day, in his room with his windows open facing Jerusalem. It is great to know how someone so faithful to God would never bow down or pray to any god or man even though he knew he would be put to death. God has also been faithful to Daniel because He saved his life and proved to the king that God Almighty is the ONLY true God. With this verse, I hope all of us would follow Daniel's example and would always remain faithful to God.

Man is given six days to do his work, however, it is mandatory for him to rest on the seventh day. We may ask what should we do during the seventh day? Well, I think we should offer this day for the LORD. It means that we should spend time going to our churches, attend bible studies, attend worship service and other church activities. In this verse, it is also stated that we should include all our family members including our maids and visitors at home. We should encourage everybody inside our own house to go to church and rest during this day. God wants us to spend our time with Him alone on Sabbath day. He has given us so much blessings every week. Hence, He deserves one day of praise and worship.

Many of us have ambitions in life. It maybe for our selves or for our families. There are many good ambitions to think of like for instance, finishing a degree in order to have a bright future or ambition to be financial stable, etc. It really depends on the person. However, there are also ambitions that are brought about by jealousy or selfish reasons. According to this verse it is not good to have this kind of ambition because oftentimes it ends up with many evil results. God wants us to have an ambition that is not self-centered and selfish. There should be no envy in our hearts too because when we have it, it causes a lot of problems. I think our ambitions in life should be God-centered because it's important to put Him first in our lives.

Our God is a very jealous God. He said it in Exodus 20 because He doesn't want us to have other gods except Him. There are many people who worship so many idols and have many gods. Jesus doesn't like it because we should only worship Him sincerely. He has done many miracles for us and even died for us on the cross for our sins. So, why should we need some false gods? Our God is a living God who can make many wonders and had done many great things for us. Hence, we don't need any other gods except our Lord God Almighty.

Every Sabbath day it is required of us to offer our tithes and offering to God. Whatever we have earned or have received for the entire week such as our income from work or business it is mandatory to give back to God what He has given us. I think the reason behind this is that the house of God should have some funds for its activities or missions and that includes the funds for church workers like the ministers,etc. Our Almighty God is a great provider. We should not be selfish for what He has given us. I think it would be embarrassing if we don't give Him back what we have received. If we give God 10% of our tithes, He will return it a hundred folds. I think we should also give Him our tithes with sincere hearts because God loves a cheerful giver. Further, we should always give what is best to God because He deserves it.

My reflection of the verse

Everyday of our lives from the moment we wake up until we go to sleep we always receive God's mercy. It's a wonderful blessing that we are given the chance to do the things that He wants us to do. So, starting our day with a prayer of thanksgiving is a nice way of thanking God for this great blessing. We may also include in our prayers the things we need or want. God hears our prayers and whatever His answer to our prayers we should be able to accept them. The answer maybe yes or no. But even if God says no, we should try to understand that it is for our own good. We expect that God will heed our request but sometimes we have to face reality that not all prayer requests are granted because God has a reason why His answer is not positive. But it doesn't mean that we will not pray anymore just because we were disappointed with His answer. We need to pray to Jesus because He always hears us whatever it is that we pray for.

My reflection of the verse

Our first priority in life should be Jesus. It's imperative for us to seek Him before we seek other things. Studying His words, meditating on it, praying to Him, and following His commandments are the things we should do as His children. If we do these things everything else will follow. Meaning we will be blessed and the things we need will be supplied by Him. Hence, Jesus should always be on top of our priority list, otherwise, everything may not be easy for us.

Bible verse of the day...Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

Money is part of our lives now a days. We can't buy food, etc. if we don't have money. The reason why we work hard or engage in business it's because we want to have a comfortable life and have money. However, this verse tells us that God doesn't want us to love money and go to the point in our lives that we would not do our Christian obligations just because of money. For instance, instead of going to church on Sabbath day, we would go to the office to work or stay home and do business. God is a great provider. He will always supply our needs. We should be content with the things we have. I'm very much grateful to Jesus because He provides me with everything because I have my five senses, i.e. sense of sight, hear, smell, touch and taste. It's great to wake up everyday that you feel refreshed and no pain in your body. I have my family, relatives and friends whom I love dearly. I think those are great blessings for me. God also provides me with good things in life and I'm most grateful to Him. So, why love money when you have Jesus in your life who is the great provider of all?

Bible verse of the day...Isaiah 43:11 (NIV)

I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior. Isaiah 43:11 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

I think this verse is very simple to understand. It is telling us that there is no other savior for us except our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. No one can save us from the fires of hell unless we accepts Jesus as our savior. Many knows that Jesus has died for our sins but still they don't believe Him. I have talked with some people and most of them believe that they are saved by their good deeds. Well, we can't be saved by doing good alone but by confessing our sins to God and accepting Jesus as Lord and savior will save us. This reminds me of another verse in the bible which says "Jesus answered: I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me [JOHN 14:6 NIV]." With this verse together with our verse of the day, it's obvious that the ONLY way to salvation is through Jesus. Hence, everybody must accept Jesus as their savior, so, they can be save.

My reflection of the verse

It's not hard to find God if we truly seek for Him. God is always there every time we need Him . However, due to our sinful ways it maybe difficult to see Him or hear His call. I think when we look for Him we must sincerely ask Him to enter into our lives and renew ourselves to be worthy of Him. Further, this verse is a reminder for those who want to find Him and it says that God is always available anytime but we must have a sincere heart to find Him.

My reflection of the verse

We can say that this verse is simple, well, it is. But maybe difficult for most of us to follow. We live in a complicated world and most of us struggle living. Many are tempted to do things that are not pleasing to God. I think this verse is telling us that we should read the bible constantly because it will guide us in our daily lives. In all of our ways we should live based on God's word in order for us to be holy and pure.

Bible verse of the day...Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV)

"In your anger do not sin" : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

The verse says that we should not allow ourselves to be angry at someone for a long time, otherwise, we will sin. If we have a misunderstanding with someone it should be settled before the sun comes down. I think the rationale behind this is that it would be difficult to patch up when we don't talk things over immediately and God's adversary will use it against us. Therefore, we should not be carried away with our anger and try to make peace with the people we had problems with before the end of the day.

My reflection of the verse

This verse is a reminder to us about how we should watch the words that come out from our mouth. We maybe praising and worshiping God, however, we may also say bad things about others or toward others. So, we should control our speech and refrain from cursing or saying improper words to others.

Bible verse of the day...1 John 4:21 (NIV)

And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. 1 John 4:21 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

If we truly love God we should also love our brother. When we say brother it means not only our siblings but also our neighbors, friends, strangers we meet along the way and even our adversaries. We should try to love them just like we love ourselves. I'm reminded of a verse on the bible about God's two greatest commandments, (1.) love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind; and (2.) love your neighbor as yourself [Matthew 22:36-39]. So, it's important that we love our fellow beings because we are all created by God.

Bible verse of the day...Luke 6:27-28 (NIV)

But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Luke 6:27-28 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

It's quite hard to follow this particular law. Many of us find it difficult to love the person we hate or who have hurt us. Sometimes it's also hard to forgive what they did. There are instances that we would want to get even or hurt them as well. But God tells us that we should do the opposite. This reminds me of another verse in the bible ROMANS 12:21 which says "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." We Christians should be like Jesus who was able to forgive those who mocked Him or crucified Him. Although His crucifixion was part of God the Father's plan but still Jesus has taught us to forgive and love those who sin against us. It is also important to pray for those who persecute us because I believe that prayer is a very powerful weapon. Hence, we should be loving, forgiving and prayerful Christians because our God has command us to obey this law.

My reflection of the verse

As God's children we should not think that we are more better than others. Some of us maybe affluent or more intelligent or talented, etc. We should not think higher than those who may have different blessings or gifts given by God. But instead, we should be humble with what we have. I think we are created equal and we have our unique qualities. Each of us were born for a purpose and have a mission to fulfill. What we contribute or share with others is part of God's plan. Whatever we do or decide would affect others. Small things make a lot of difference in the world we live in. Further, this verse makes me think of a puzzle. Without one piece of the puzzle we won't be able to get the entire picture or see the whole concept. Therefore, we should encourage each other to do what we were designed to do because we all belong to God's master plan.

My reflection of the verse

If we sin and make something not acceptable to God and to man, there are instances that our fellow being reject us. But this verse is asking God not to turn away from us in times that we commit sin. Rather asking Him to be there despite our imperfections. We don't expect other individual to understand and accept us when we do something bad because man is an imperfect being. However, God is the perfect creator who will always love us no matter what.
