Bible verse of the day...Daniel 6:3-5 (NIV)

Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent. Finally these men said, "We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God." Daniel 6:3-5 (NIV)

My reflection of the verse

This is a very inspiring verse because it reminds me how good Daniel was. I have always liked Daniel as one of the bible characters because he was a faithful servant of God. He worshiped God alone and had never prayed to any god except to God Almighty. However, many envied him because he was a righteous man and no fault could be found in him. If we read the entire chapter (Chapter 6) we could see how these satraps influenced the king to make a decree which says that for 30 days no one will pray to any god or man, otherwise, he will be thrown into the lion's den. But Daniel never obeyed that law because he knew that it was not right. He continued praying to God, three times a day, in his room with his windows open facing Jerusalem. It is great to know how someone so faithful to God would never bow down or pray to any god or man even though he knew he would be put to death. God has also been faithful to Daniel because He saved his life and proved to the king that God Almighty is the ONLY true God. With this verse, I hope all of us would follow Daniel's example and would always remain faithful to God.
